OCPAA 2023/2024 Season Company/OCPRO Auditions will take place on Saturday, July 29th and Sunday, July 30th. Registration is now open. Students should be registered by their AGE GROUP and if they are NEW to Company/OCPRO or RETURNING Company/OCPRO. Please read all the details below to learn the steps, timeline, fees and schedule. We will be auditioning dancers for our 2024 season based on a 2 day audition process as well as summer classes. We will evaluating dancers based on the following:
- How the dancer takes and presents themselves in a class environment (attitude, focus, responsibility, character)
- Ability to pick up choreography and take corrections
- Overall technical abilities
- Performance ability in each style (jazz, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop, etc.)
OCPRO vs Company
OCPRO is designated advanced level competition groups with advanced level dancers ranging from ages 7-18 that attend 3-4 conventions (examples: Velocity, Hollywood Vibe, Jump, etc.), 1-2 traditional competitions and 1 nationals.
Company is composed of beginner to advanced level dancers ages 3-18. Company groups will attend 3-4 traditional competitions (examples: KAR, Hall of Fame, Showbiz, Showstopper, etc.), 1 convention and 1 nationals.
OCPRO or Company? At auditions on July 29-30, all dancers will be evaluated for placement in OCPRO groups and Company groups. If you make OCPRO groups you will follow the OCPRO competition schedule, or, if you are placed in Company groups, you will follow the Company competition schedule. Please contact tammy.ocpaa@gmail.com with questions about OCPRO. In general any dancer in OCPRO or Company groups are considered part of OCPAA Company.
Placement on a Company or OCPRO team is dependent on there being an appropriate age and skill level group available for a dancer to join.
Audition Groups & Schedule
Dancers will be evaluated in AUDITION GROUPS by AGE LEVEL as follows:

Audition Fee:
NEW students to company: $100
RETURN Company/OCPRO dancers: $75
WHAT TO BRING/WEAR
- Please make every effort to drop off index cards, headshots and payments on the pre-registration dates (7/26 & 7/27), but you may bring these items on Saturday 7/29 prior to your call time as well.
- Plenty of water
- Wear all black dance clothes that allow the dancer’s body to move and be seen
- Jazz or half shoes
- Hair should be clean and pulled away from face
- No jewelry
- No hair bows or accessories
- Name badges with safety pins will be provided

NEW – any dancer auditioning for OCPAA Company 2023/2024 Season who was not on company or OCPRO for the 2022/2023 Season.
RETURN – any dancer who is currently on Company or OCPRO and competed with OCPAA for the 2022/2023 Season.
Unable to Attend Auditions on 7/29-7/30?
If you are unable to attend all or part of auditions you still must complete all four of the steps listed above – REGISTER, fill out the application, pay the audition fee and drop off a headshot and index cards. You will be able to indicate on the application that the dancer will not be attending the auditions.
